Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Pentecost.

Ali, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m born and raised in Houston and have been living in Austin on and off for about six years now. For the most part, I’m a relatively normal millennial chick with a passion for music and art. My relationship with the music industry started at 16 while working as a promoter for a booking company called, ScoreMore. At the age of 20 I became a marketing coordinator for AfterDark Entertainment as well as started my first bottle service job in downtown Austin. Now, let’s fast forward about four years to my first collaboration with Houston-based photographer, Christian Pena. This is where my journey into the modeling world truly began.

Honestly, it’s only been a year since I started taking photography seriously, as far as social media is concerned, my page was mostly for personal use. You know, the typical moments I felt were important enough to share with the world for whatever reason. Now, I view it more as an art form and an expression of my creativity. One of my goals is to work with as many talented and inspiring individuals as possible in the industry. Every photoshoot is a fresh opportunity to document how I’m feeling in that exact moment and I’m really excited for what the future holds.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like anything in life, challenges are inevitable, with that being said, I feel very blessed to be living the life I am currently. I would say the greatest struggle has been surrounding myself with the right people. Teamwork makes the dream work and having a down to earth friend group is a game changer. Collectively we motivate each other to pursue passions, enjoy every second no matter what we’re doing and of course laugh at memes.

Please tell us about the business.
As a business, I would say I’m just breaking ground. I’m still figuring out exactly how I want to build my brand. At this point, I just want to have fun and inspire confidence in others. Authenticity is key and every day I’m making progress in owning my innermost truths. I’m proud of that. As far as what sets me apart from others. my sense of humor, work ethic and ability to write a kickass caption is a good start.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, my brand and this industry will have to adapt to the next trending social median platform. That’s the nature of the beast. At the heart of that change, is the desire to keep content original, entertaining and visually pleasing for my audience. There’s already a shift taking place. applications like Instagram are becoming functional and evolving billboards. It seems the key is keeping it light hearted and simultaneously involving k pop. Lol.
